How-to: Block People On Facebook Timeline
Sometimes you may encounter spammers or people who post annoying links and stuff on your wall or send unwanted invites. These incidents may deteriorate your experience on Facebook.
So if you want to get rid of someone, you could always use the “Block” option. Once you block a person’s account, that individual won’t be able to view any of stuff at all, which makes your profile invisible to that person.
Also, they won’t be able to find you in search results and thus cannot send you a friend request. In other words, both the user and the blocked person become mutually invisible.
So how do i block someone on facebook timeline?
There are two methods by which one can block an account.
First method, which is easier for me:
- Go to the account of the person you want to block.
- Click on the drop down arrow beside the Message button and a drop down menu will appear. Select the “Report/Block” option in the menu.
- Once the dialog box pops up, select the “Block” option and click “Confirm”. You’re done!
The second method is as follows:
This method is useful when you want to block several people at a time.
-
Log into your Facebook account. You will find the Privacy Setting Icon option on the right hand side of your home page. Select “Privacy Settings” from the dropdown menu. Here’s an example screenshot:
-
Look at the left sidebar, and click Blocking link option. Notice how all the blocking options are available in including blocking users, blocking app invites, blocking event invites or block apps.
To block users, enter the name or email address of the person you want to block and then click on the blue block button. All done!
- You will now see the name of the person you have just blocked followed by an “Unblock” link. You can select this option if you decide to unblock him in the future.
If you’re using the Facebook App for iPhone, you’re still able to block people on it: click here to learn!
