Changing Your Twitter Header Image

Social networking sites are always adding fun ways to interact online. While Facebook and Google + added cover photos in their additional features, Twitter introduced the customizable header. Twitter users can now add a personal touch to their Twitter profile and at the same time, share their interests or business with the world.

It’s designed to look terrific on both website and mobile apps. This new feature is beneficial for users seeking a unique social media identity or for businesses aiming to convey a brand message to their followers on Twitter.

Things you need:

  1. A computer or a mobile device
  2. A Twitter account

Steps (Editing on Website):

  1. Log in to your Twitter account.
  2. Click the gear icon. This can be found at the upper right hand corner of the page.
  3. Click Settings from the dropdown menu. Click SETTINGS
  4. Look for a list of options on the left side of the page.
  5. Click Profile and then click the Change header button and choose “Upload Photo”. Upload Photo
  6. You may reposition or scale your header image before pressing Save changes.

Note: Once you have uploaded an image, you must click Change Header then Remove to be able upload a new image.

Steps (Editing on Mobile Device)

  1. Log in to your Twitter account.
  2. Click the Me button found at the bottom left portion of the page.
  3. Click the gear icon.
  4. Select Edit profile.
  5. Choose the Header option from the dropdown menu.
  6. Pick an image from your mobile device.
  7. If your device has a camera, you have the choice to take a photo.
  8. Scale the image or reposition the image before adding it.
  9. Click Save.
