We all know how important it is to track your website’s performance especially with Google Analytics.

You want to understand where your traffic is coming from, how long your visitors are staying on your site, number of people who take action (purchase, fill out the form, viewing page), most viewed pages and so on.

It’s the best tool for evaluating and improving your marketing efforts.

If you’re using WordPress as your content management platform, you might have already heard of Genesis Theme. It’s among the best themes in WordPress today because of its many capabilities such as responsive HTML5 designs, search engine optimization, airtight security, instant updates, and high level of customizable, trusted developer and layout options.

However, due to its many features, you might get lost and wonder how to install the Google Analytics on it. And this is why I’m writing this post, we’ll go through the easy step-by-step instruction on how to achieve this.

Install your Google Analytics on WordPress Genesis Theme

Step #1: Copy the code from Google Analytics

  1. Go to Google Analytics and click “Access Google Analytics”. Go to Google Analytics and Access Google Analytics
  2. Click on the site and click “All Web Site Data”. Click All Web Site Data
  3. Click “Admin” and under Property, click “Tracking Info” and select “Tracking Code”. Click Tracking Info and Select Tracking Code

Step #2: Paste the code on WordPress

  1. Now go back to WordPress dashboard, click “Genesis” from the left sidebar and select “Theme Settings”. Click Genesis from the sidebar and click Theme Settings
  2. Scroll down to the bottom until you see this part: “Enter scripts or code you would like output to wp_footer():”. Now paste the code on that area. Here’s how it should look like: Now add the code in the footer
  3. Now click “Save Settings” button.
