Inviting A Contributor On Pinterest Boards

BY · Leave a Comment

Since its launch in 2010, Pinterest became one of the fastest-growing social networks. While Facebook and Twitter focus on status updates and personal sharing, Pinterest allows users to share, collect and organize images or videos they discovered from the Internet.

It’s like an online scrapbook where you can pin images on a board of certain category, for instance recipes. What makes it more interesting is you can invite other people to pin images to a board you created. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to invite contributors on your Pinterest boards.

How to Invite Another Pinner (on Public Board)

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click your name on the Profile menu to access your Profile.
  3. Go to a board (you want to add a contributor on) and click Edit.
Select a Pinterest board you want to add a contributor on
  4. In the Who can pin? section, input the email address or first and last name of the user you want to invite. Add your contributor's first and last name or EMAIL
  5. Click “INVITE”.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Things you need to know:

  1. In order to invite a pinner, you must follow at least one of the person’s boards.
  2. Since you are the creator of the board, you are the only user entitled to change the board’s name or description, delete any pin on the board, and remove pinners from the board.
  3. The people you invite may remove themselves from the group.

Steps (on Secret Board)

  1. View your profile by clicking your name on the Profile menu located at the top right of your screen.
  2. Go to Secret board and click Edit.
  3. When you see the Who can pin? section, add the email address or first and last name of the user you want to invite. Click “Invite” button.
  4. Then click Save Changes button.

Things you need to know:

  1. The board creator may set the secret setting off without asking for anyone’s permission. The group’s pinners will receive a notification via email once the secret board is made public.
  2. Invited pinners can see the board. They can also invite other people to the board but it is subject to the creator’s approval.
  3. Only the board creator can approve and delete requested invites.
  4. Invited pinners can pin and repin on the board. They may also repin contents on other boards. The pins will not show information or link about the Secret board.

By inviting other pinners to your board, you can increase the number of repins, boost the number of followers, and gain more exposure.
