Permanently Banning Someone On Facebook Page

Have you ever experienced receiving inappropriate or abusive comments from a fan? Is someone constantly posting spam ads on your timeline? With the high occurrence of spamming and abusive behaviour in Facebook, especially in business pages, the need to ban a user from your Facebook page may arise. Fortunately, Facebook allows you to do this in three ways. Here’s a simple tutorial on how to permanently ban someone on your Facebook page.

How to block fans from Facebook Fan Page:

Steps (From your Page’s Timeline):

  1. Go to your Admin Panel. Open Admin Panel
  2. Click “See Likes” located at the left side of the screen.
  3. A popup window should appear where you will see the people liked your page. Click X next to the name of the user you want to ban.
  4. Tick the checkbox Ban Permanently.
  5. Press Okay.

Steps (from a comment)

  1. Go to the comment of the person you want to ban.
  2. Click x next to the comment and select “Delete”.
  3. Choose Delete and Ban User.

Things you need to know:

  1. When you ban someone from your page, they are still listed as a fan of your page but they can no longer post to your page, give comments or share content of your page to other places on the social network. Facebook recommends this action for users who continuously post spam on your page.
  2. Instead of banning, you may also choose to just Remove someone from your page. This is advisable when you don’t want a user to follow your page’s posts.
  3. You may view the list of banned people from your page. To do this, Click See all from New likes section in your Admin panel. Under People who liked this dropdown menu, click Banned.
  4. You have the option to unban users.
