how to remove response rate on facebook business page

If you have been using Facebook pages for quite some time now, you probably have seen how they evolved. Facebook has been working hard to improve the customer service-focused features of their business pages. One of the latest developments that you might have noticed is the response rate for your “message feature”.

Response rate measures how fast Facebook page admins respond to inquiries and messages. This metric is very useful for Facebook users who want to have an idea how long admins usually replies.

The response rate, by default, will be displayed on your Facebook page. However, for those Facebook page admins who have not allowed people from contacting them, the response rate is not displayed.

There is no way you can get rid of this particular status “% Response Rate” as of now. You will have to disable your “message” feature to do this OR you can turn your admin status as “away”.

Method 1: How To Disable Your Message Button

  • Go to your Facebook business page. Click “Settings” from the top menu.
  • Select the “Message” feature.
  • Uncheck “Allow People To Contact My Page Privately by Showing The Message Button”

Method 2: How To Switch Your Status to “Away”

Here’s how to switch on your “away” status.

Go to your Facebook page profile. Hit the messages button. It will open a new page. On that new page, you will find the “away” button at the upper left portion. Just click that and you are ready to go and you should see your status turned to “away”.

Though you can have this option, the “away” button will only work for 12 hours. After 12 hours, your away status will automatically revert to available status.

Another Way: Turn On Instant Reply To Improve Your Response Rate

The other way to improve your response rate without actually responding is by turning on your “Instant Replies” feature. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Go to your Facebook business page. Click “Settings” from the top menu.
  • Select “Messaging” from the left menu.
  • Check the “Instant Replies” feature.
  • Add your message on “Customize Your Instant Reply”. Here’s my example message: Hello there!

I don’t check my Facebook messages that much. It would be awesome if you can email me at hi@twelveskip.com instead.

    Thank you!

PS: This is an auto reply.

    Best,
    Pauline C.
