Using The Activity Feed On Twitter

BY · Leave a Comment

If you are curious enough as to what people follow are doing on Twitter, then this article is for you. The activity feed on Twitter lets you browse the activity of the people you follow, such as who they follow, the tweets they favorite or retweet, etc. It works much like the activity feed on Facebook (where you see what people like, who they add as friends, etc.).

Navigating to the activity feed

To show the activity feed, follow these simple steps:

  1. First, log in to Twitter.
  2. SignInTwit

  3. Next, click on the Discover tab on the top of the page.
  4. DiscoverTwit

  5. On the right side, click on the Activity tab.
  6. ActivityTwit

  7. Now you will be able to see the activity of the people you follow, such as who they have followed and tweets they retweet or favorite.

Advantage of activity feed

The activity feed is a good way to feel closer and connect with the people you follow. It lets you know their interests and likes, just as the same with Facebook, so that if you have a common interest, you can exchange information with each other and have fun! For example, if the person you follow mostly retweets about sports and game scores, and you are interested in the same topic as well, then you two could be great friends!

Disadvantage of the activity feed

However, there can be a downside to letting people know your activity on Twitter. For example, people might stalk you with this and you might feel unpleasant with people knowing what kind of tweets you favorite and what kind of people you follow on Twitter. For this reason, you can choose to protect your tweets by keeping them private. But don’t worry – only a few people on Twitter have chosen this. Mostly, celebrities keep their Twitter activity in public, and yet of course, are careful when using Twitter when it comes to retweets, favorites and follows.

Conclusion

The activity feed is a handy tool much like the timeline on Facebook – it helps you connect with friends (or in Twitter’s case, followers and followed people) even more, but the disadvantage is just as similar – privacy invasion. So it is up to the user to protect his or her account by being very careful with the information and activity he or she does on Twitter.
