google’s pagespeed insight – what is it?

If you want to measure the performance of your page on mobile and desktop devices, then Google’s PageSpeed Insight is the perfect tool for you. PageSpeed Insight Measures Page Performance on:

  • time to above-the-fold load- This refers to the elapsed time from the time when a user requests a new page to the time the above-fold-content is delivered by the browser.
  • time to full page load:- This refers to the elapsed time from the time when a user requests a new page to the time a page is fully delivered by the browser.

What Google’s PageSpeed Insight Considers?

The tool only considers network-independent aspects of page performance since the performance of a network connection varies significantly. Here are some of the factors it considers:

  • server configuration
  • HTML structure of a page
  • Use of external resources like images, JavaScript, and CSS

Page Speed Suggestions:

  • Red exclamation point- It means that fixing this would have a considerable effect on page performance
  • Yellow exclamation point- You can consider fixing this if there’s not a lot of work.
  • Green check mark- It means the page has no significant issues.
