How To Approve Or Deny Follower Request On Twitter?

If you have set your Twitter account to private, then your tweets are protected and other users will not be able to see it. Users can send you a follower request to gain access to your account- this will enable them to view, retweet and reply to your tweet posts. You may also send them direct messages. However, you have to manually approve or deny follower requests. Here are simple guidelines on how to approve or deny Twitter follower request on web or app.

Steps (on Web)

  1. Go to the Follower Request notification. This can be found at the left portion of your homepage below the Compose a new tweet box.
  2. Approve or deny individual requests by clicking the check or x -mark.
  3. Click Done.

Step (on app)

  1. Click the Me tab located on the right portion of the homepage.
  2. Scroll towards the middle and click Follower Requests.
  3. You may now approve or deny individual requests. Simply click the check or x- mark.
  4. Click Done.

Things you need to know:

  1. If your tweets are not protected or set as public, you will not get any follower request. You can control who can follow you by protecting your tweets.
  2. When you don’t have any follower request, the notification setting will not appear in your homepage.
  3. If you receive an email notification of a pending approval from a new follower, but you don’t see any notification or pending requests in your homepage, then most probably the user decided to withdraw his or her request after sending it.
  4. You may also organize your Twitter followers by grouping them in a list by theme or contact type. Once you’ve made a list, you can add your contacts to the most applicable list. This can actually save you time in tracking a contact.
